Serve and Find Solutions

WHO WE ARE

We are a Service and Solutionary Club that adhere to the highest human values, specially those of Humane Treatment of People, and Animals; and our Responsibility to contribute to a Healthy and Sustainable Environment through the methodology and principles of Humane Education. We do this through Service and also through Inspiring our members to find  Solutions to our School's, Community, and  Global Problems in order to have a Safer, Greener and more Humane world.

The Humane Ed Club is a tool of the award-winning program ‘The Humane School Initiative.’ In 2009, the the Department of Social Science and the Partnership in Character Education from Miami Dade County Public Schools, submitted our program and it was awarded as Best Practice in Character Education by Chracter.Org

The Humane School Initiative set the basis for the creation of ‘The Humane Foundation.’ A nonprofit organization that would sponsor this and other humane education projects.

WHAT WE DO

We believe that DOING is the best way of SAYING, and it is through hands-on SERVICE activities that we better express what we are all about.

The first and most important area of development is the PERSONAL. We cannot love others if we do not love ourselves, that is why we take time to work on the areas of personal growth, self-esteem, and character development.

In the area of Interpersonal Relationships, we find solutions that help us improve our relationship with OTHERS. We seek to break down the walls of divide that may exist among the student’s body and impulse the areas of social acceptance of human diversity, mutual respect, empathy, compassion and solidarity. Some activities we participate in are Random Acts of Kindness; The Heritage Panels, MixItUp Day; Challenge Day among others. We also volunteer and donate to Foster Children Care and Homeless Services; Participate in Natural Disaster Relief Programs, and many other volunteering opportunities.

In the area of Animal Rights, we educate about animal sentience and awareness and how much alike we are providing their well-being, care and protection. We look for our students to learn how to treat animals in a humane way with empathy, compassion and respect and oppose to
